We can work with you to create a bespoke course for you arranged on a date which is mutually convenient. Half and full-day courses can be arranged depending on your plans. Beginners’ crochet Saturday 5 February Half-day course

Join us at Old School Crafts for a half-day workshop and learn to master chains, slip stitches, doubles and trebles! You will be guided from how to hold hook and yarn, through to producing your first crocheted flowers. All materials are provided, including a hook and yarn to take away to practise your new skills.

Leather journal making Friday 18 February

Join us at Old School Crafts for a half-day workshop to create your very own leather ‘wraparound’ journal or notebook. Perfect as a gift or keepsake, your journal can be personalised with your choice of papers for the pages.

Make a slip case for a cherished book Friday 4 March

Do you have a favourite or cherished book which you want to make even more special or protect?  This course takes you through the process of making a slip case specifically designed and measured to the exact dimensions of your book. You will have a choice of coloured cloths for the outside of your slip case.

Making a half-cloth book Sunday 20 March

Learn how to make traditional half cloth books.  Half cloth books have a cloth spine and cloth corners with a decorative paper on the front and back covers.

This course would be ideal for somebody who has already done the introduction to bookbinding course but it is also suitable for anybody who is new to bookbinding.  The book block is made in the same way as the Introduction to Bookbinding course but the case is constructed differently.
